It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of David A. Rodriguez. I was Mr. Rodriguez’s supervisor for the last two years that he was the Senior PC/Network Support II for Texas Tech’s Office of International Affairs (OIA) at the International Cultural Center (ICC). Altogether, David worked in this position within the OIA for over five years. During that time, he designed, installed, and maintained the network domain; administered network accounts for users and computers; developed, designed and managed our ever-changing and expanding web site and data bases; and purchased all computers and IT equipment as necessary. In addition, he was at the beck and call of over thirty staff members–few of whom could really be called computer literate! That David not only managed to perform his multiple duties in a wonderfully professional way, but also patiently explain programs and computer “bobbles” to all who called upon him, is a testament to his technical expertise and his people skills.
Even though David has been the Lead Programmer Analyst at TTU’s Teaching Learning and Technology Center since 2006, he has given generously of his time to help us recruit his “replacement” (as if there could be one!) and to answer our IT-related questions whenever necessary. He is never too busy to lend a hand or an ear, even though we are no longer his workplace. I can’t think of higher praise than to say that David is not only a thoroughly competent and well-trained Programmer Analyst, but also an all-around nice guy. He would be welcome back here in a heartbeat, and I am absolutely confident that anyone who works with David will consider themselves very fortunate.
